Vimeo 약관이 공식 플레이어 임베드를 허용 — 단 영상 주인이 「어디서 임베드 가능한지」를 제한할 수 있음
주의할 것
- 1영상 주인이 임베드 설정을 「Nowhere」나 「Specific domains」(허용 도메인 50개)로 두면 내 사이트에서는 오류가 난다 — 임베드 코드가 보이는(Anywhere) 영상만 쓸 수 있다.
- 2약관 5.2 가 금지하는 콘텐츠(성인물 · 혐오 · 불법 등)가 있는 사이트에는 Vimeo 플레이어를 임베드하거나 링크하면 안 된다(5.3).
- 3임베드는 「스트리밍」만 허락한 것이다 — 영상을 받아서 다시 올리거나(5.4 금지) 플레이어를 뜯어고치는 건 안 된다. 광고가 붙은 사이트에 임베드하지 말라는 조항은 2024-07 약관에는 없다(옛 Vimeo 가이드라인에는 있었다는 기사가 있다).

확인하지 못한 것
- 「광고가 붙은 사이트에 임베드 금지」 — 2009년 Techdirt 기사가 옛 Vimeo 약관에 그런 조항이 있었다고 전하지만, 2024-07-08 판 Terms of Service 와 2025-09-22 판 Acceptable Use Community Guidelines 에서는 그런 조항을 찾지 못했다. Vimeo 가 공식적으로 「광고 사이트 임베드 가능」이라고 밝힌 문서도 찾지 못했다(조항이 없다는 것만 확인).
- 옛 「Commercial Content Guidelines」(Basic · Plus 로 사업용 영상 호스팅 금지)는 현재 vimeo.com/help/guidelines 에서 커뮤니티 가이드라인으로 넘어가며 사라졌다 — 지금 플랜별 상업 콘텐츠 제한이 있는지는 미확인(약관 4조에는 「무료 회원은 직접 만들지 않은 영상을 올릴 수 없다」만 있음).
- Vimeo 임베드를 둘러싼 국내 분쟁 사례(삭제 요청 · 판결)는 찾지 못했다. 남의 Vimeo 영상을 임베드한 사이트가 그 영상의 저작권 침해 책임을 지는지에 대한 한국 판결도 찾지 못했다.

Under the Where can this be embedded section, select the drop-down and choose between Anywhere, Nowhere, and Specific domains. Anywhere: Anyone can embed your video onto any page on the internet.
