1파일 설명 페이지의 라이선스를 하나씩 확인한다 — CC BY 는 저작자 · 라이선스 표시, CC BY-SA 는 고친 결과물도 같은 라이선스로 공개, GFDL 은 라이선스 전문 첨부까지 요구한다(안내 페이지는 전단 · 잡지에선 지키기 어렵다고 쓴다). PD · CC0 만 조건이 없다.
2알아볼 수 있는 인물 사진은 CC 라이선스가 사진가의 권리만 풀어 준 것이라 피사체의 초상권 · 퍼블리시티권은 그대로다 — 공용 안내는 광고 · 상업 이용에 보통 당사자 동의가 필요하다고 하고, 국가별 표에서 한국은 촬영 · 공개 · 상업 이용 모두 동의 필요(Yes) 로 표시돼 있다.
3상표 · 로고 · 건축물 · 예술품이 찍힌 사진은 저작권 외의 제한(Non-copyright restrictions)이 따로 붙는다. 출처 표시는 업로더가 아니라 원저작자 이름으로 하고, 라이선스 표시 생성기(Attribution Generator) 를 쓰면 편하다.
