주의할 것
- 1SVG · PNG 를 앱 · 사이트에 넣어 배포하면 Apache 2.0 제4조에 따라 라이선스 사본(또는 링크)과 저작권 고지를 함께 두고, 그림을 고쳤으면 고쳤다고 적는다.
- 2글꼴 파일(NotoColorEmoji.ttf)은 OFL 이라 글꼴 파일만 따로 파는 것은 금지 — 웹폰트 · 앱 번들은 가능하다. 저장소 LICENSE 에 예약 글꼴 이름(Reserved Font Name)은 없다.
- 3저장소 루트 LICENSE 가 2024-07 에 OFL 로 바뀌어 README 가 말하는 Apache 2.0 원문이 저장소 안에 없다 — 배포물에는 OFL 저작권 고지와 Apache 2.0 링크를 둘 다 두는 쪽이 안전하다.

확인하지 못한 것
- README 는 '이미지 대부분 Apache 2.0(./LICENSE)' 이라 하지만 그 링크의 루트 LICENSE 는 2024-07-29 커밋으로 OFL 1.1 로 바뀌었다. 이미지(2D/svg · 2D/png · 3D)에 지금 공식적으로 어느 라이선스가 적용되는지 Google 의 공식 정리는 찾지 못했다 — 두 라이선스 모두 상업 이용은 허용한다.
- 애니메이션 Noto Emoji(noto-emoji-animation) 는 CC BY 4.0 이라는 기여자 답변만 있고, 사이트 · 저장소에 라이선스 파일은 없다(이슈 작성자도 같은 지적). 애니메이션 판은 출처 표시가 필요하다고 보는 게 안전하다.
- Noto Emoji 무단 사용으로 실제 분쟁이 된 사례는 찾지 못했다.
