1Creative Commons 스스로 소프트웨어에 CC 라이선스를 쓰지 말라고 권한다 — 소스 코드 배포 · 특허 조항이 없고 주요 소프트웨어 라이선스와 호환되지 않기 때문. 코드가 CC BY-SA 로만 제공되면 쓰기 전에 저작자에게 소프트웨어 라이선스로 다시 받는 쪽이 안전하다.
2그래도 쓴다면 ShareAlike 라 그 코드를 포함한 2차 저작물을 같은 CC BY-SA 로 공개해야 하고, 출처 · 라이선스 링크 · 변경 표시를 남겨야 한다 — 상용 비공개 코드와 섞으면 조건을 못 지킨다.
